Healing, that is what interests me most. Through incredible back pain, a near death experience and a burn out, my path led more than twenty years ago to the oriental healing methods and the movement form thereof, Do-In (Dao Yin).
There are several forms of movement that are practiced within Eastern medicine, but Do-In caught my attention because it is very free. It requires the teacher to be able to analyze the energy and combine the right exercises, acupressure and visualizations to increase balance. This requires study, dedication and endless personal practice.
I have now written several books on this fantastic subject. Today I received an email from an American reader who can stand and walk again thanks to the exercises - especially the adapted exercises - from the book The Essence of Makkō-Hō and the Stretchings of Masunaga. I have also been able to train many teachers who now all share Do-In at a high level.
Eastern medicine is holistic: we see that body, mind and soul are inextricably linked. An old saying within Eastern medicine is that all healing starts with Shen, consciousness and an expression of the soul. This statement fascinated me and led me, together with recurring dreams about eagles, to deepening through shamanism. This turned out to be the origin of Eastern medicine and the best possible deepening that I could imagine. It became even clearer what body, mind and soul communicate and how to work with it. I apply this wisdom in my consultations and since February in the annual Integrated SHEN-medicine trainings. So that more and more people can enjoy these beautiful experiences and heal themselves and others in the way that best suits the situation and the person.
